Part-time Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting the building to detect any malfunctions needing repair.
  • Be able to physically use equipment and do custodial job in regard to cleaning and maintenance of the physical building.
  • Have knowledge and application of mechanical systems and be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and safe operation of building mechanical systems.
  • May be required to work on a flexible schedule in order to maintain the building and grounds at periods of time that participants and staff may not be at the Center.
  • Provide counsel to management regarding facility issues.
  • Handle and/or oversee snow removal, landscaping and lawn maintenance.
  • Performs routing janitorial tasks including sweeping, scrubbing, wet mopping, vacuuming, buffing, carpet cleaning, etc., as needed in order to maintain clean and sanitary premises.
  • Is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and safe operation of building mechanical systems, including: plumbing, water, gas and related building utility systems. This would also include contacting responsible municipality and contractor vendors for approval, maintenance and repair when needed.
  • Meets with direct supervisor to assist in identifying and correcting any unsafe condition.
  • Alerts Executive Director of any hazardous and/or potentially dangerous condition.
  • Maintains a schedule of janitorial tasks to be performed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/equivalent
  • Two years of experience working in custodial/maintenance/construction work preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
