A day devoted to staff development

Four times a year, the staff at the Center meets for a day to develop skills that will help them better serve the participants. This quarter’s meeting was held on Friday, September 17. The day started with introductions of new staff members and presentation of the upcoming health insurance renewal period. The first session was on Creative Planning, focusing on planning classes and outings. This was followed by Verbal and Written Communication, and its importance at the Center. The sessions wrapped up in the afternoon with Defensive Driving Skills and Stress Management and Resilience, presented by outside experts.

The day was topped off with the announcement of the Becky McClone Talent, Loyalty and Commitment Achievement Award recipient. This year’s award went to Sue Rohl, participant services/nursing assistant. “Sue has been a long-time dedicated staff and she is always willing to help out wherever needed. She is a true blessing for the Center,” said Pam Carey, executive director.
