Katie Bryant sits on the Board of Directors at the Center of Hope. We asked Katie to share some of her thoughts about the Center and her time on the Board.
How long have you been a Board member? I believe it has been almost 2 years.
Why did you choose to join the Board? Although I had never heard of BOCOH, a fellow board member and friend, reached out and thought it would be a mission that I could stand behind. She was right. I truly believe in the power of creating opportunities for every individual to reach their fullest potential. The Center’s mission—to help individuals with developmental disabilities reach their goals through skill development, vocational training, and community service—deeply resonates with me both personally and professionally.
Please describe what being on the Board means to you. Being part of this board allows me to support a mission that promotes dignity, inclusion, and independence. It’s an honor to contribute to an organization that creates hope and real opportunity for individuals and families in our community.
What would you say to a prospective Board member? Serving on the board is more than just a title—it’s an opportunity to make a real impact!
What keeps you on the Board? What stands out to me about the Barbara Olson Center is the focus on ability, not disability. Their commitment to meeting people where they are, honoring their unique strengths, and providing pathways to meaningful engagement in the community is both inspiring and impactful. This philosophy is what keeps me committed to this board.
