Lana Darin is fleet coordinator/direct support professional aide and has been at the Center of Hope for almost seven years. We asked Lana to share some of her thoughts about the time he has been at the Center.
Please describe your role at the Center? Maintain the safety of all the vehicles; fuel, monthly inspections, etc. Go on outings as extra, fill in rooms as needed.
Why did you choose this field? I enjoy working with those with special needs. They are totally non-judgmental and very loving.
What advice would you give someone who is interested in working at the Center? It’s very rewarding. Come and get to know the participants – they’re wonderful people.
What is the biggest change you’ve seen over the years? The structure of our curriculum and we’re far more community-based now.
What keeps you at the Center? I love my job.
Anything else you’d like us to know? Take the time to get to know everyone. We are a big family who all work well together.
