A budding new class
Earlier this year, the Center of Hope introduced a Plant Class for the participants. This class gives the participants the opportunity to socialize with their peers, learn about plants and gardening, and most importantly they are able to sell their creations for money they get to keep!
In the class participants paint pots, learn about different plants and seeds, and how to care of them. They’ve also been doing some gardening.
The plants are for sale to the community with proceeds going to the participants.
“It is really neat when I walk around the building and have the participants talk to me about plant class and will remind me what day of the week they come. Also the joy on their face when they sell their plants is priceless. We have a lot of fun and are also learning at the same time,” said Kelley Peterson, director of participant programs.
“We need more potting soil and plants or just monetary donations work too,” she added.
