Meet Tammy Tufly

Tammy Tufly is a direct support professional (DSP) and job coach at the Center of. We asked Tammy to share some of her thoughts about the time she has been at the Center.

Please describe your role at the Center. I am a DSP and I support the participants in room 10.

Why did you choose this field? I love being able to support people and I find joy in completing a task or program with the participants I assist.

What makes you excited to come to work each day? I am excited to communicate with and connect with our participants, finding ways to create paths with people and let them know they are listened to.

What has been your biggest surprise since you started working at the Center? There are a lot of activities and outings, parties, parades, so much going on all the time and put together so well.

What advice would you give someone who is interested in working at the Center? Do it! The support is amazing, the coworkers are a joy, I find myself being heard and it is so good. The happiness that everyone feels in this field is so evident.

Anything else you’d like to add? Being a gentle rudder to someone’s day and making connections fills me with peace.
