BARBARA OLSON CENTER OF HOPE RECEIVES GRANT FROM TRY BETA CLUB

Barbara Olson Center of Hope is proud to announce it has received a $2,400 grant from the Try Beta Club to purchase a purchase two PCs and monitors to be used by the participants at the Center. These resources will provide our participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the opportunity to explore their own ideas for community engagement and pursue individual interests. For example, the computers will allow the participants a chance to learn about basic technology to help with communication and how to search for possible employment opportunities, along with completing online employment applications. They will also be used as teaching tools for the participants.

Barbara Olson Center of Hope is a not-for-profit organization serving the Rock River Valley since 1948. Its mission is to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities reach personal goals through individualized skill development, vocational opportunities, and community service. The Barbara Olson Center of Hope serves 140 individuals with IDD who live in their homes or in residential settings. Each individual is unique in their abilities and needs.
The Center of Hope’s success over the years, with the support from our community, has been built on continually evaluating and providing more choices and options for all the participants that we serve so they can live the lives they desire.
