BARBARA OLSON CENTER OF HOPE RECEIVES GRANT FROM TRY BETA CLUB

ROCKFORD, IL – DECEMBER 5, 2024 – Barbara Olson Center of Hope is proud to announce it has received a $2,200 grant from the Try Beta Club to purchase a purchase recreation equipment for our participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Many of our participants do not get the opportunity to be physically active at their homes so we try to incorporate physical activities as part of our daily schedule. It helps them improve their fine and gross motor skills, learn different skills like teamwork or taking turns and it can also help them self-regulate. We serve individuals with a variety of sensory needs. Gross motor activities utilizing different areas of the body can help them in numerous ways. Studies show that regular exercise helps improve one’s mood and sleep, as well as lower both blood pressure and cholesterol. Many of our participants need help in these areas as well.
