BARBARA OLSON CENTER OF HOPE RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE BLAZER FOUNDATION

Barbara Olson Center of Hope is proud to announce it has received a grant from The Blazer Foundation to purchase three new battery-powered passive sling lifts for transferring its participants with severe disabilities, increasing the safety of both participants and staff.

“Participants at Barbara Olson Center of Hope include individuals who require patient transfer because they have physical disabilities and utilize a wheel chair for movement. They require change of positions, toileting care, and other physical assistance multiple times throughout the day. The passive sling lift helps maintain a healthy physical position by using it for toileting and repositioning to prevent skin breakdown and bed sores,” said Kelley Peterson, director of participant services.

She went on to say, “Barbara Olson Center of Hope is committed to caring for its participants at the highest level possible in the safest way. This equipment will increase our ability to provide a greater level of safety for our participants, reinforcing our mission to help individuals with developmental disabilities.”
