Paris Robinson-Fricks is a direct support professional aide and has been at the Center of Hope for six years. We asked Paris to share some of her thoughts about the time he has been at the Center.
Please describe your role at the Center. Helping individuals reach their personal goals, providing choices and going on lots of outings in the community.
Why did you choose this field? Hearing my mom talk about how the participants would make her day if she had a bad one.
What advice would you give someone who is interested in working at the Center? Come with a pure heart to help the participants meet their needs and to be open to change.
What is the biggest change you’ve seen over the years? More opportunities for the participants.
What keeps you at the Center? Knowing that I mean something to the participants, helping them learn the skills they need to be independent as possible and knowing that if I miss a day they greet me with lots of hugs and let me know that I was missed.
