Super Shredders FAQs

What are your hours of operation?                                                                                   

Monday through Friday 9:30a – 1:30p. Closed holidays and special event days, which can be found on the website calendar.

Who does the shredding?                                                                                                         

Individuals with developmental disabilities that attend Barbara Olson Center of Hope work in the shredding area and are responsible for sorting and shredding documents while under Supervision of staff.

How is your pricing structured?                                                                                                   

Pricing is determined to fit the customer need for on-going service. Drop off service is .15 per pound with a $5.00 minimum

Where is Super Shredding located for dropping off shredding materials?   

The dock is located in the back of The Center of Hope building at 3206 N Central Ave in Rockford. Please ring the bell if the dock door is not open for assistance.

 Do you have to remove staples, paper clips, binder clips, etc.? 


Do I have to remove paper from binders?


Is the information kept confidential? 

Yes, all information remains confidential and is shredded in a secure locked setting. Certificates of destruction can be provided after documents are shredded, when requested.

Can I watch it being shredded?           

Yes, if a time is scheduled.

What type of materials do we accept?   

We accept paper, newspaper, and cardboard.

Do we go to residential homes or just businesses?   

Yes, we pick up from residential addresses and business locations.

What do we do with the shredded materials?     

It is sent to a paper wholesaler after it is shredded and bundled, then it goes to a Paper Mill.

What is the difference between bulk services and on-going services?   

Bulk services is when a pick-up is scheduled at your location then all materials are brought back and weighed, then an invoice is sent for service. With ongoing services, customers have a regularly scheduled pick up and a set number of bins or carts on location.
