2019 Hope Olympics a Success

by Barbara Olson Center of Hope | Jul 08, 2019

On Friday, June 21, a group of about 140 participants took part in the 2019 Hope Olympics, ice cream social, and art fair on the grounds of Barbara Olson Center of Hope.

The games started with an opening ceremony lead by executive director Carm Herman, followed by rounds of badminton, bags, shooting hoops, lawn bowling, and more. Ice cream, donated by Dean Foods, was served after the games.

More than 15 works of art, created by the participants, were auctioned off, with proceeds going directly to the artists.

“Everyone had a great time and some participants are still wearing their medals. The people volunteering and the participants’ willingness to have fun made it a success,” said Kelley Peterson, participant services director, who organized the event.

Thank you to the Board members and parent volunteers for their help and support throughout the day. And thank you to DJ Joe Licari for providing music during the games.
