Development Director

The Development Director works closely with the Executive and Board of Directors to plan and execute development strategies and monitor progress toward determined goals. This position is responsible for overseeing agency fundraising, writing community, state and federal grants. Key to success in this position is maintaining visibility and communication with trustees, donors and other stakeholders.

 

Essential Responsibilities (list not all-inclusive):

  • Research, collect data and write all necessary grants at the community, state and federal level.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, develop and implement a strategic plan for single and multi-year fund development efforts
  • Prepare and present for approval proposals for corporate and foundation support of the Center
  • Oversee planning and logistics for special events, including overseeing committees, obtaining sponsorships and solicitation of gifts and preparing related printed materials and coordination with all viable entities needed
  • Responsible for soliciting cultivating and securing major gifts

Qualifications

Flexible hours, Monday - Friday. Bachelor’s degree required, degree in non-profit fundraising or related field preferred.  Minimum of five years experience writing grants and fundraising experience required. Knowledgeable in Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities preferred.
